Financial Automation Courses Starting September 2025
Practical skills for modern financial operations — taught by practitioners who've done it
We're running two course streams starting September. One's for people who've never touched automation before. The other's for those already working in finance who want to stop doing repetitive tasks manually. Both streams teach you how to build systems that actually work in Australian business contexts. No fluff, no theory for theory's sake.
Choose Your Learning Path

- Multi-platform data synchronization
- Custom reporting automation
- Error detection and alert systems
Business Process Redesign
Beyond just automation. This one's about rethinking how your entire financial operation works. You'll map processes, identify bottlenecks, and rebuild workflows from the ground up. Taught by someone who's done this for 30+ businesses.
- Process mapping and analysis
- Workflow optimization strategies
- Change management in finance teams
- Building scalable systems
You'll Learn From People Who Actually Do This Work
Our instructors aren't academics. They're accountants, bookkeepers, and financial controllers who've spent years figuring out how to make Australian businesses run smoother. Lachlan built automation systems for manufacturing companies around Newcastle. Isla spent a decade in retail finance before moving into consulting.
They teach what they use. The course content comes from real projects — the successes and the stuff that didn't work the first time. You'll get stories about what went wrong, not just polished case studies.
Lachlan Whitmore

Isla Thorburn
Systems ConsultantFormer retail finance manager. Now helps businesses connect their financial tools in ways that actually save time.
What You'll Actually Learn (Foundation Track Example)
Here's how the Foundation Track breaks down week by week. The other courses follow similar structures but cover different technical ground. Each week builds on the last — you'll apply what you learned immediately.
Data Extraction Basics
Weeks 1-3Start with bank statements, invoices, and receipts. You'll learn to pull data automatically instead of typing it in. We cover PDF extraction, CSV processing, and dealing with inconsistent formats.
- Extracting structured data from documents
- Handling multiple file formats
- Cleaning and validating imported data
- Setting up automated import schedules
Categorization and Rules
Weeks 4-6Build systems that sort your transactions automatically. You'll create rule sets that learn from your past categorizations and flag anything unusual for review.
- Creating dynamic categorization rules
- Training pattern recognition systems
- Building exception handling processes
- Reducing manual review time
Reconciliation Workflows
Weeks 7-9Connect your systems so they check each other. Bank feeds, accounting software, and payment processors all talking to each other. You'll spot discrepancies before they become problems.
- Multi-source data matching
- Automated variance detection
- Building approval workflows
- Creating audit trails
Reporting and Dashboards
Weeks 10-12Turn all that automated data into reports people can actually use. Build dashboards that update themselves and send alerts when numbers look odd.
- Designing effective financial dashboards
- Automated report generation
- Setting up intelligent alerts
- Creating custom KPI tracking
